DID YOU KNOW? Dancing is not just a cardio workout used to lose weight, it tones your muscles too! Many people associate strength training with lifting heavy weights, but dancing can be just as effective at strengthening and toning your muscles as weights. This is especially true for leg and abdomen muscle groups. Instead of using barbells, you’ll be using the weight of your own body.

Spotlight on JITTERBUG! The Jitterbug is an upbeat and lively swing style dance; it’s name was coined by trombonist Harry Alexander White. Jitterbug is a broad term that can cover a multitude of dances, including the Lindy Hop, Jive, and both West and East Coast Swing. Europeans, during World War 2, viewed these dance moves as crude and were warned against participating in this American dance. However, over time the original frantic movements and swings were modified for more conservative ballroom versions.
